Both US Letter (8.5 × 11 in) and A4 (210 × 297 mm) are available in the editor. Names print on the front of folded cards; the back is blank. The print-sheet preview shows the exact arrangement, including unused space.
1. Choose cardstock your printer can handle
Matte white or warm ivory cardstock is a good starting point. Try 65–80 lb cover stock (about 176–216 gsm) for a home printer. A heavier stock can help folded cards stand, but only use it if your printer supports the weight. Paper labeled “text” and “cover” uses different pound scales, so check the gsm value.
Check your printer’s manual for supported paper weight and the correct feed tray. Print a single sheet before using your full stack.
2. Print at the right size
- Choose Letter or A4 in the editor to match your paper.
- Download the PDF and open it in a PDF viewer.
- Select Actual size or 100%. Turn off “Fit to page”.
- Choose the appropriate cardstock or heavy-paper setting. Print on one side.
- Measure a test card: its front should be 3.5 × 2 inches, or 5 × 7 inches for a retirement card.
The preview and PDF share the same artwork and dimensions. Your printer, ink, and paper affect physical color, so a test print is the best check.
3. Trim and fold
Use the short corner marks as cutting guides. Join the matching marks with a ruler, then cut with scissors or a paper trimmer. A cutting mat protects your table.
For tent cards, score the dashed horizontal line with a blunt scoring tool and ruler. Fold the blank upper half behind the printed name. Press the crease gently and stand the card on its two open edges.
4. Set a welcoming table
Place a folded card above a plate or on a napkin. Flat cards work in small holders or tucked into a folded napkin. Pair an autumn card with a rosemary sprig, or a Christmas card with a little evergreen. Keep paper away from candle flames.
